I am an elementary education major with a sustainable development minor, my goal as I work with children is to encourage more
sustainable lifestyle choices. I am twenty-three years old and am the middle of two sisters. My family is really close and always there for
one another, no matter how mad we are. I've worked with children for about seven years now and know that my future is filled with many more
years of teaching, learning and playing with them. I hope that my efforts to teach children will help to change future generations
toward a more sustainable future where over consumption and the nonsense capitalist society do not hold such high importance.
I Am Poem
I am from a once dirt road neighborhood, where we fought hungry deer from devouring our tomatoes.
I am from a childhood filled with swim lessons with baby frogs and pond gunk fights.
I am from nightly family dinners with a lazy susan and handholding blessings.
I am the middle of three ladies who gossip and bicker like hens in a henhouse.
I am from a teasing persecuting preteen years for my parents being two men.
I am always colorful, trying to catch an eye with a painting or dress to express my uniqueness.
I am constantly distracting by the humming chatter of the conversations around me for people can express so much when they think no one is listening.
I am concerned about the current world in which we live; with over consumption combined and capitalist ideas of productivity I fear we, the human species, will be our own demise.
I am crazy obsessed with the concepts and principles of sustainability; including composting, recycling, and cradle to cradle.
I am an unofficial mother to a furry, orange kitten Octavius; who loves to kneed me awake each morning.
I am not a perfume type of gal instead smelling of cloves and mens deodorant.
I am a graffiti artist of only one symbol; finding the perfect placement for each piece tends to make me smile.
I am never able to accept what is said, constantly questioning why?
I am Mary Claire Lamm
