I am from timber houses and thatched roofs. I am from Old English spoken as native tongue. If you look way back deep I am from Civil War hero Philip And his trusty offspring Richard and Daniel. I am from lunch at Granny’s every Saturday and breakfasts every Sunday. I am from nine uncles and eighteen cousins. I am from pickup trucks and tractors. Food where I’m from is picked in the garden, cucumbers make pickles and tomatoes make salsa. I’m from fireflies, butterflies and true love. I am from where a man is only as good as his word. I am from cowboy boot trotting and ponytail swinging. I am from pick the blueberries and make your own pie. I am from “You gotta be tough out here in the country.” I’m from do it yourself, you don’t need any help. I’m from daffodil picking, front porch sitting and sweet tea drinking. Now that’s what I call home
My name is Chelsea Avery. My hometown is Lincolnton, NC where I have two parents, a wonderful older brother and beautiful nephew. I decided to attend Appalachian state so that I would not be too far from home, but could still get out and find my own way. I love spending time with my beautiful family and I really enjoy going to country music concerts. This past year I bought a beautiful Yorkshire terrier. He is seven months old and a bundle of energy, which I love coming home to everyday. My first car was a Toyota Celica and I’m still driving it. I will keep on driving it until the wheels fall off. I am a very country girl; you can say I have an accent. I am twenty years young and am ready to graduate college, so that I can begin my career. I have had great teachers in my past and they led me to the decision to be a teacher. I saw how wonderful and understanding they were with their students and one day I hope to have my students look up to me. I want to teach young children, because I want to go into work and have fun every day. Teachers are constantly learning, sometimes I think that the students teach them.
